Listen forA second, independent self-disqualification from the same skeptical homeowner — he'd tried before and assumed it failed. Same call as his lien and free-program objections; this is a different moment in a 280-turn conversation.

you don't about the rate change because I can see how much is going up. Unfortunately, a month ago somebody called me and also told me about trying to qualify me for some discount stuff,
AGENT03:44pm
uh-huh
HOMEOWNER0:53
it didn't work, so. so yeah, I don't, I don't think I qualify for whatever discount he was looking into and giving
AGENT13:36
Got you.
HOMEOWNER0:55
me discounts and stuff like that.
AGENT1:01
This isn't in regards to just discounting your bill. This is in regards to the new solar programs that are out, so homeowners,
HOMEOWNER0:23
yeah.
AGENT1:15
they don't no longer need to take out a loan. There's no down payment. There's nothing for the installation cost. It's very simple. It's just as long as yourself and your property qualify. That's how we're able to help you transition into that cheaper solar bill. Does that

AGENT0:10
Hi, hello, Majid
HOMEOWNER03:44pm
Yes, hello
AGENT0:21
Hey, Majid, how are you? This is Josh. Uh, I was just giving you a call here. I, I believe you spoke with someone on my team yesterday regarding the new energy program. How are you doing today?
HOMEOWNER0:23
Yeah, good. How are you doing?
AGENT0:33
I'm doing really good, Majid. Thank you for asking. Uh, I was just, of course, giving you a call seeing if you got that notice in the mail about the recent rate increases. Did you happen to see that by any chance?
HOMEOWNER0:36
Who sent it, uh, the
AGENT0:23
Yeah,
HOMEOWNER0:37
power company.
AGENT03:44pm
so, yeah, so
HOMEOWNER2:32
Well
AGENT03:44pm
major.
HOMEOWNER0:47
you don't about the rate change because I can see how much is going up. Unfortunately, a month ago somebody called me and also told me about trying to qualify me for some discount stuff,

HOMEOWNER2:32
well I
AGENT03:45pm
make a little
HOMEOWNER5:01
tell
AGENT8:26
bit more
HOMEOWNER1:38
you I
AGENT3:22
sense?
HOMEOWNER1:21
qualify because I never qualified for anything from the government yet, so
AGENT03:45pm
Oh, OK,
HOMEOWNER03:45pm
I, I don't
AGENT1:25
gotcha. I mean, what makes you say that, uh, if you don't mind me asking?
HOMEOWNER1:30
again cause this is not the first time somebody else trying to get me the solar thing and
AGENT03:45pm
Mm
HOMEOWNER1:33
then they said that to discount this and that nothing got discounted,
AGENT0:21
OK,
HOMEOWNER03:45pm
no, I don't get

you, if you don't mind me asking, is you, how long ago was that that you spoke to someone in regards to solar.

HOMEOWNER1:39
year. ago
AGENT1:44
and did they give you an exact reason as to why you didn't qualify?
HOMEOWNER1:50
No, the guy told me you didn't qualify. That's it. He told me uh don't qualify for the program.
AGENT1:01
Oh,
HOMEOWNER0:10
I
AGENT1:15
that's
HOMEOWNER03:45pm
mean, he
AGENT1:15
very
HOMEOWNER2:01
came
AGENT2:01
strange
HOMEOWNER2:01
came to my house and he looked at my bill. He said, I hold on 35, you have kids and everything. And then when I call them 2-3 weeks later they say, oh sorry, you didn't qualify so.
AGENT2:01
That's very strange,
HOMEOWNER0:53
so yeah
AGENT2:24
huh, OK, just because with these programs, I mean, it's not based on like income or like how much you make or anything like that. It's really just based on the property and if you have a good standing credit score. So as long as your credit score was good above 670, and everything on the property path, then, you know, you should have been eligible for the program. Um, did you speak to any other company or was it just that guy that told you you didn't qualify?
HOMEOWNER2:32
well in the past, some companies before they, they talked to us and
AGENT03:46pm
Mhm.
HOMEOWNER2:38
you know my wife pulled up on it, but I started my, my electric bill now is more than twice I was before.
AGENT2:39
Gotcha. And then if,
HOMEOWNER2:38
but.
AGENT2:43
if, if you had to put an amount on how much you spend for your energy, how much would that look like for you?
HOMEOWNER2:46
I'm paying $240 a month right now.
AGENT2:48
Wow, OK. And I'm guessing it tends to go
HOMEOWNER0:10
I
AGENT03:46pm
up more
HOMEOWNER0:21
was
AGENT2:50
during the higher months.
HOMEOWNER2:54
I was paying about 71, you know, 20 years ago, but now, you know, it's a lot more than
AGENT1:25
Gotcha.
HOMEOWNER2:56
what are you giving me what?
AGENT3:22
No, that, that, uh, that makes a lot of sense and I mean if you they should have gave you a reason as to why you didn't qualify the first time around, um, but that's why we are calling because homeowners with these new programs are now getting qualified for them, it's just a matter of the, of course, if your property is able to qualify at that point in regime. So quick question for you, for your property, do you have any like big trees or tall buildings that provide shade over the roof by any chance?
HOMEOWNER3:27
No, I have a two-story building, so I got plenty of hats.
AGENT0:21
OK
HOMEOWNER3:28
I got plenty of time.
AGENT3:27
Plenty of
HOMEOWNER3:30
my trees are around of the house,
AGENT1:25
Gotcha.
HOMEOWNER3:32
not near the house, so
AGENT3:37
And then for your roof condition, are there any leaks or damages that you're aware of? Did they ever advise you of anything like that?
HOMEOWNER3:41
I, I went to my house in 2012, I put a new roof. I remodeled my house. I didn't so that was pretty good.
AGENT3:52
Gotcha. OK. Well, that shouldn't be an issue then. And then for the type of roof you have, do you happen to know if it's like shingles, clay-style, concrete. Do you happen to know?
HOMEOWNER3:55
It, it's singular well,
AGENT03:47pm
Is shingles
HOMEOWNER03:47pm
uh, as for.
AGENT4:08
Asphalt shingles? OK. I mean, that shouldn't be an issue either. We installed on plenty of asphalt singles. Um, now, for the property itself, is there anyone else that owns it with you, like a spouse or a family member, or is it just yourself or you?
HOMEOWNER4:10
No, it's under my
AGENT4:10
Under
HOMEOWNER4:22
name
AGENT4:22
your name? OK, perfect. Not an issue at all then. And then, of course, for these programs, like I mentioned since they are government endorsed, you would just need to have a good standing credit score of at least 670 or higher, so I'm guessing you're good on that end as well, correct?
HOMEOWNER4:25
Yeah, I'm, I'm good on
AGENT0:21
OK.
HOMEOWNER0:33
that.
AGENT4:28
And is there any existing solar on the property?
HOMEOWNER0:10
O
AGENT4:30
silly question, but
HOMEOWNER4:33
What is this you talking? Are you guys gonna installing solar systems solar
AGENT0:23
yeah,
HOMEOWNER03:48pm
panels.
AGENT5:01
so like I mentioned, these are new programs, so it does involve the installation of solar, but you don't have to pay for it. So there's no loan associated with this. There's no down payment. Nothing for the installation cost. Like I mentioned, it's just as long as your property qualifies and from what you're telling me, it definitely sounds like you could be a good fit for Mai. The next step is really simple. It's just about selecting that better time and date, so the consultant can stop by and break it all down for you and answer any questions you may have.
HOMEOWNER5:04
So, so how come total is gonna be free
AGENT0:21
Yes,
HOMEOWNER2:24
based
AGENT0:21
so
HOMEOWNER03:49pm
on what?
AGENT5:33
I don't like to use the word free, so you're still gonna have a bill. It's just gonna be much cheaper than what you're currently paying right now. So to give you an example, Majid, if you're averaging, let's just say $200 with this program, as long as you're able to get qualified for it. We're able to knock that bill down I don't want to say anywhere between 100 to $130 now. It just depends on the size of the system, but roughly, homeowners have been seeing savings around 40%.
HOMEOWNER5:36
And how much is the system gonna cost me?
AGENT5:52
Nothing. So you don't pay for the system you pay for is the energy that comes at a much cheaper rate. So it's, it's kind of like how you're with your energy company right now, except you're purchasing that system at a much cheaper rate. That's the only difference.
HOMEOWNER5:58
Yeah, but you know what? I don't think it's gonna work because most of my power is in the evening when my kids
AGENT03:49pm
Uh-huh
HOMEOWNER6:02
come home. When my son's, there's nobody at home using the power, to tell
AGENT0:21
OK.
HOMEOWNER6:08
you the truth, so most of my power comes when my kids come home in the evening, so I don't think that's gonna save me
AGENT1:25
Gotcha.
HOMEOWNER03:50pm
that much.
AGENT6:35
No, and I can very, I can see the concern there, and that's a very valid one. The great thing with this program as well is that it comes with battery packs. So, even though that system's generating energy for you during the day. When you get these battery packs, it stores all that energy for you. So when your kids do come home and they end up using energy or even yourself, you're covered. It's not gonna ever pull from California Edison ever again. You just pull from those battery packs. And the battery pack, they're included with the solar.
HOMEOWNER6:43
So you're telling me the whole solar system with the battery pack, we're talking 30 to $40,000.
AGENT4:22
Correct
HOMEOWNER6:45
It's not gonna cost any money.
AGENT6:48
Correct. And the reason for that is because the, the way these
HOMEOWNER0:23
Yeah.
AGENT7:15
programs work is they're backing funded by taxpayer dollars. So your taxpaying dollars, my taxpaying dollars, a portion of everyone's taxes now are being funneled into these programs. So what the government's doing is they're allowing homeowners to see if they're able to qualify as long as you're able to qualify. That's how you get the system, but unfortunately, if you don't qualify, then it would automatically disqualify you from the program. Did that make a
HOMEOWNER5:01
So like
AGENT03:51pm
mhm
HOMEOWNER7:19
I said, everybody came out here and they looked into my bill and they didn't qualify
AGENT0:23
Yeah,
HOMEOWNER0:21
me.
AGENT2:01
that's very strange
HOMEOWNER3:27
so I,
AGENT0:47
because
HOMEOWNER0:10
I
AGENT1:21
from,
HOMEOWNER03:51pm
feel I'm
AGENT03:51pm
mhm.
HOMEOWNER7:32
talking. I'm having a hard time believing that the government was gonna be, gonna give me $40,000 power system so I can knock down my electricity bill.
AGENT7:33
Gotcha. Well, they're not
HOMEOWNER2:24
you know
AGENT0:21
giving
HOMEOWNER7:34
what I'm saying
AGENT8:26
it to you. Remember, you're still gonna have a bill, it's just the bill now is gonna be much cheaper than what you're paying. So, you're just paying for the energy. The catch here is, is that your property needs to qualify. So even though you tell me everything may be good, what happens is if you do decide to move forward, there's something that's called a site inspection that takes place where they inspect everything, just to make sure that the property's good and if the property for any reason doesn't pass, we would have to advise you and let you know as to why it didn't pass, which is why I was curious as to why that other guy told you you didn't pass, but then didn't give you a reason to it. That's something that we have to do. So let's just say for instance, if we check your roof and it turns out that your roof uh needs to get reinforced for the paddles. That's something that we need to advise you and let you know, or your property couldn't qualify for it. Does that make it a little bit more sense, Majid?
HOMEOWNER8:34
So what's qualify what you mean, so what you're saying basically I qualify not based on income
AGENT0:23
Yeah,
HOMEOWNER0:33
or
AGENT03:52pm
yeah, it's
HOMEOWNER1:15
it's
AGENT0:33
not
HOMEOWNER2:24
based
AGENT2:24
based
HOMEOWNER2:24
on the
AGENT0:21
on
HOMEOWNER3:22
roof
AGENT2:24
income
HOMEOWNER03:52pm
quality.
AGENT8:58
or anything like that. The only thing is you would need to have a good standing credit score of 670 or higher. And the reason why they asked for that is because traditionally, homeowners will make their payments on time have a good standing credit score of 670 or higher, or if you have any past bankruptcies or foreclosures within the past 7 years, that would also automatically disqualify you. So you're good on that end, right?
HOMEOWNER9:03
Yeah, no, I'm not worried about my credit. I have excellent
AGENT03:53pm
Mhm
HOMEOWNER9:10
credit. That's just, I'm yet to believe that they're gonna give me something free that's not gonna be tied to my loan or to my house or some lien
AGENT0:33
No,
HOMEOWNER0:21
on
AGENT0:33
no
HOMEOWNER0:21
some.
AGENT9:14
lien involved
HOMEOWNER0:10
I
AGENT0:21
with
HOMEOWNER9:15
don't know what's
AGENT10:06
this. That, that's why I mentioned it's as long as the property qualifies. That's the big thing here. Otherwise, every single homeowner in Southern California would be jumping into these programs, but the reason why they're not is because a lot of homeowners have old roofs. They have damaged main panel units, they have older main panel units, uh, their credit score might not be in good, in good shape, so a lot of homeowners do unfortunately don't qualify, so I'd want to stay around 30 to 40% of the applicants that we do help try and move forward. They actually get denied because something's wrong with the property. So, even though this all may sound good, it sounds like a no-brainer. The thing here is the property would need to qualify. And that's why we send a consultant out to you, for one, to explain everything to you, show you a full breakdown, Answer any questions or concerns you may have and actually show you how much you'll save compared to what you're spending right on me.
HOMEOWNER10:15
and you say that bill would replace my Edison bill or that be my whole Edison bill the
AGENT0:33
That
HOMEOWNER03:54pm
cut
AGENT0:21
is
HOMEOWNER03:54pm
in half.
AGENT10:37
correct. It, it, it completely gets rid of that California Edison bill, and now you just pay a cheaper solar energy bill. That's it. So like the example I gave earlier, where if you're paying $200 with Edison on average, we now can get you anywhere between 100 to 130. It just depends on the size of the system at that point and what you're looking for. Does that make a, a little bit more sense, Majid? I hope it did.
HOMEOWNER10:40
Yeah, is that, so that's a private
AGENT0:33
No,
HOMEOWNER10:41
company that does that or
AGENT0:21
so
HOMEOWNER0:53
what?
AGENT11:19
this program's government endorsed, meaning that any solar company can actually come up to you and offer you this program, which is why I said was it's kind of strange how you looked into solar before, but they advised that you didn't qualify. There, there always has to be a reason as to why. Um, so if they ever did give you the reason, you know, that would give me a better understanding, but from what you're telling me right now, I don't see why not. You shouldn't be able to qualify. Your roof's in good standing condition. Um, it has no leaks or damage. Your main panel unit should be in good standing shape as well, especially if you redid everything, um, so it definitely sounds like you could be a good fit. The next step is just sitting down and seeing if it worked out for you.
HOMEOWNER11:25
All right, I guess we can meet with someone if you wanna send somebody
AGENT8:26
Sure,
HOMEOWNER0:21
here
AGENT11:27
yeah, I mean, what,
HOMEOWNER2:46
right.
AGENT11:31
what time works better for you? Is it typically mornings or afternoons that work better for you, Majid?
HOMEOWNER11:35
I mean, usually afternoon
AGENT0:23
Yeah.
HOMEOWNER11:36
when I'm home from work or, you
AGENT0:23
Yeah
HOMEOWNER11:38
know, it depends it's
AGENT03:55pm
Mhm
HOMEOWNER11:41
on a Monday, uh, usually
AGENT11:31
Afternoon
HOMEOWNER11:42
afternoon I get
AGENT8:26
Sure.
HOMEOWNER11:36
home from
AGENT0:23
Yeah,
HOMEOWNER0:53
work.
AGENT11:44
no problem. I mean, I
HOMEOWNER0:23
Yeah.
AGENT11:49
can do, let's see here. And what time do you usually get home after work? Is it after 4, after 5, after 6?
HOMEOWNER11:57
Well, it depends again, uh, usually, yeah, I'll be home by 5 o'clock for
AGENT0:21
OK.
HOMEOWNER03:55pm
sure, but then 06.
AGENT12:00
I mean, what I can do then if
HOMEOWNER0:21
you
AGENT0:21
you
HOMEOWNER2:24
know.
AGENT12:13
get home around that 6 o'clock time frame. I can definitely go ahead and mark you down for like 6:30 just because the latest consultation we have does run all the way up until 7, and I do see a spot here. The 6:30 or 7 p.m. work better for you, Majid?
HOMEOWNER12:18
Uh, probably 6:30. Well, hang on,
AGENT0:21
Uh,
HOMEOWNER8:26
which
AGENT11:41
Monday

HOMEOWNER0:23
Yeah.
AGENT12:37
Uh, and for Monday, I do have it looks like here, a 11 o'clock available. Would 110 be good for you? 11 a.m.?
HOMEOWNER0:23
Yeah
AGENT4:22
Perfect,

AGENT13:24
Awesome.
HOMEOWNER03:56pm
Monday 11th.
AGENT12:48
Let me go ahead and mark you down then for this upcoming Monday at 11. Now, for that California Edison bill that you get, do you get it online or in the mail?
HOMEOWNER12:55
Uh, I was getting it online, but now I think I get it in the mail because I changed
AGENT1:25
Gotcha
HOMEOWNER12:58
uh because I couldn't, I wouldn't get this online
AGENT0:33
No
HOMEOWNER03:56pm
on soon
AGENT11:44
problem
HOMEOWNER03:56pm
enough
AGENT4:22
at all.
HOMEOWNER03:56pm
sometimes that
AGENT11:44
problem,
HOMEOWNER2:43
would
AGENT13:04
man. What I can do for you is I'm gonna send you a text message just letting you know that you're all set for Monday
HOMEOWNER0:23
yeah.
AGENT13:15
at 11. If you have the chance, please send over page 3 of your bill. It just shows a bar graph that we can use to conduct the savings report for you and also save you some time during the consultation, OK?
HOMEOWNER13:18
OK, I'll look for it and
AGENT13:24
Awesome
HOMEOWNER13:19
I'll, I'll scan you page
AGENT0:23
Yeah,
HOMEOWNER2:01
3
AGENT13:21
page 3, it has a bar graph
HOMEOWNER0:21
OK.
AGENT13:24
on it. You can't miss it, so it should be right there. Um, but awesome then, so you're all set. I got you down for Monday at 11. Now we do work as a first come, first serve, so that just means that since you're taking that time, another homeowner can't take it. So I just wanna make sure that that 11 o'clock time frame works for you, Majid.
HOMEOWNER13:40
Yeah, uh, Monday
AGENT4:22
Perfect.
HOMEOWNER13:41
11 o'clock would be
AGENT13:24
Awesome then.
HOMEOWNER03:57pm

$400
AGENT04:41pm
400. OK. Got you. And then for your energy provider, is it California Edison or PG&E?
HOMEOWNER04:41pm
Southern Ca Edison
AGENT04:41pm
Southern Cal. OK. Got you then. And then, of course, for these programs, uh, there's no existing solar system on the property right now, correct?
HOMEOWNER04:41pm
correct
AGENT04:41pm
OK. Well, it definitely seems like you could be a good fit. Now, like I mentioned, uh, the next step is just having the consultant stop by and seeing if you're able to get approved for the program. So what they do is they write sit down with you, they go over the program, they show you how much you can save with it. And then, of course, they answer any questions or concerns for you, Mr. Casimano. Um, when it comes down to your availability, you typically more free in the mornings or in the afternoons?
HOMEOWNER04:41pm
evening
AGENT04:41pm
Evening times. OK. Let me see here. I do have available this upcoming, uh, Tuesday or would like around 4 p.m. work for you?
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
No, it's not
AGENT04:42pm
No.
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
late enough.
AGENT04:42pm
later, do you need it later? OK. Uh,
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
Yeah.
AGENT04:42pm
so for the latest consultation I have, it would be a 7 p.m. Would a 7 p.m. be good for you?
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
Yeah, that'll work
AGENT04:42pm
That'll work. OK. So let me see what day I got for you to see. I do have it looks like here a 7 p.m. available for Thursday. Would that be a good time for you, Mr. Cosimano?
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
Yeah
AGENT04:42pm
Yeah, OK.
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
How
AGENT04:42pm
And
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
long,
AGENT04:42pm
then
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
how long to wait before we go any further? How long does it take?
AGENT04:42pm
takes roughly around 30 minutes, 45 on the longer end if you have a lot of questions, but it's around a 30 minute uh uh.
HOMEOWNER04:42pm
OK.
AGENT04:42pm
OK, so, uh, just to give you a quick little breakdown, what they do is they stop by, right? They sit down with you, they go over the program, they go over your bill, they give you a savings report to show you how much you can save. And then, of course, they answer any questions or concerns. Now, Mr. Cosimano, is there anyone else on the property with you that owns it or that's on titled like a spouse or family member?
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
My wife will be there with me
AGENT04:43pm
OK, perfect then Mr. Casimano. And now I know you mentioned you say you didn't qualify before. Have you looked into these solar programs before in the past or no?
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
Yeah, it was just too
AGENT04:43pm
Yeah
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
much money.
AGENT04:43pm
Gotcha. OK. Well, I can assure
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
If it's too
AGENT04:43pm
you
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
much money, I mean, how much money that we looking at? Do you have to drop any money on this type of programs or is this? gonna
AGENT04:43pm
Yeah,
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
be like
AGENT04:43pm
really
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
a free program
AGENT04:43pm
No, really good question. So there's no money that comes out of your pocket in regards to these newer programs, so there's no loan you take out, there's no down payment, there's nothing for the installation cost in there as well as no lien on the property. Essentially, if everything checks through with your property, you're able to get the system for nothing out of pocket, and the only bill you take on is a much cheaper energy bill, around 40% cheaper than what you're currently paying right now. Does that make it a little more sense?
HOMEOWNER04:43pm
Yes so be instead of being 400 it'll be about 3320
AGENT04:43pm
It'll be roughly around, I would say anywhere between 200 to around 230, 240 around there. It just depends on the size of the system and seeing how much they can help you save at that point. Does that make a little more sense, Mr. Cussamoto?
HOMEOWNER04:44pm
Yeah
AGENT04:44pm
Yeah, OK, perfect. So I, I could definitely go ahead and set this up for you then for Thursday at 7 p.m. Um, now for that utility bill you do get, do you get it online or do you get it in the mail?
HOMEOWNER04:44pm
I'm not sure my wife does it. She's the CFO.
AGENT04:44pm
Oh, OK. Got you then. She probably has it somewhere then. for sure.
HOMEOWNER04:44pm
Yeah.
AGENT04:44pm
OK. So what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna send you a text message. It's just to confirm for Thursday at 7. So if you want, you can actually save, save yourself some time too. Have your wife send a picture of page 3. It just has a bar graph on there. That's all we need. That shows your energy usage for the entire year. We use that to go ahead and conduct the savings report. So if you're able to send it before, that would even save you more time during the consultation, OK?
HOMEOWNER04:44pm
OK.
AGENT04:44pm
Awesome then, Mr. Customato. So I'm gonna send you that text message shortly. Uh, what you could do for me in the meantime is just give me a like or a thumbs up just to let us know you received it. Other than that, you are all set for Thursday at 7 p.m. and I do just want to confirm uh the address here. It's the one on 10,860 Lowden Street in Seton. Is that correct?
HOMEOWNER04:45pm
correct
AGENT04:45pm
Perfect then. So I'll send you that text message. Um, we do work as a first come, first serve, so what that means is since you're taking that time at 7, another homeowner won't be able to take advantage. So I truly just want to make sure that that time works out best for you and your wife.
HOMEOWNER04:45pm
Yeah.
AGENT04:45pm
Perfect then, Mr. Cosimmao. So I'll send that text message shortly. I look forward to your reply. We look forward to meeting you this Thursday at 7.
HOMEOWNER04:45pm
Sounds awesome
AGENT04:45pm
Awesome then. You have yourself a great day.
HOMEOWNER04:45pm
Thank you.
AGENT04:45pm
You too. Bye-bye
HOMEOWNER04:45pm
Bye.
